In this year's John Lewis advert, the mother of the teenage boy who gives his dad a vinyl record, transporting him back to his young, partying days, is star os the 90s, Cordelia Bugeja

She trained in the practice after becoming a mum to daughter Dusty, now seven, qualifying in maternity reflexology - which she now specialises in - and later trained in pregnancy massage and baby reflexology, before focussing on the fertility side of the treatment.

But her business runs very much toe-to-toe with her acting, which has been her career since the early nineties when she made her first television appearance in children's ITV drama Eye of the Storm in 1993 - playing the lead role opposite Bill Nighy.

The same year, she appeared in ITV sitcom Conjugal Rites starring as the on-screen daughter of a middle-aged couple struggling to stay together, played by Gwen Taylor and Michael Williams, which ran for two series.

In her early 20s, Cordelia bagged minor roles in EastEnders and The Bill which kicked off an era of regular cameo parts in a series of TV juggernauts.

She starred in BBC soap Doctors, crime drama Silent Witness, Agatha Christie's Poirot, The Bill once again, Hustle, Holby City, as well as soap Family Affairs playing Melanie Hart.

Cordelia, 49, has been in so many commercial, TV series and film appearances that she's one of the most recognisable faces on British TV (pictured in Family Affairs 1999)

The familiar face on TV also appeared in the brief, six episode Channel 5 sitcom 'Respectable'

The big-screen also beckoned for Cordelia, having notched brief appearances in films including 2001 German slasher film The Pool, alongside Aussie actress and Wedding Crashers star Isla Fisher, and Guy Ritchie's 2017 blockbuster King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

And like any jobbing actress, bagging appearances in big commercials are also a major coup.

Cordelia has featured in an award-winning campaign for Sure antiperspirant with the punchline 'Thank god you dumped him first!', featuring an epic dance routine by 'passers-by' celebrating the fact her character ditched her boyfriend who's now moved on with somebody else.

Plus, she also starred a promo for Yakult yoghurt drink playing a single girl swooning on a hunk obsessed with 'friendly bacteria.'

Her most recent work, aside from the John Lewis ad, is the regular role of Edwina Mountbatten in Freedom of the Night, an historical drama streaming on Sony LIV, and a part in Prime Video romcom, Picture This, alongside Ted Lasso star Phil Dunster.

Cordelia, who is of Maltese descent from her father's side, regularly updates her Instagram page with snippets from her career, as well as family life.

Her bio reads 'Life's too short for margarine, bad books & sh*tty people' and she often uses her posts to promote the work of her acting pals.

The actress does not post regularly about Ant Ciavarrella, the father of her daughter, and it is unknown if they are still together. Mr Ciavarella, is Italian with family in Australia and runs a London hospitality recruitment firm called Ruckus.
