Veteran actor and rapper Ice-T has been married to Coco Austin for over 20 years. The 68-year-old recently shared some meaningful marriage advice during an interview with Fox News.
Ice-T, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, shared the marriage tips during a press conference for the FOX celebrity competition series, Nation’s Dumbest. The Colors rapper will be starring in the series alongside fellow actor Jon Heder.
“I think in a relationship, I think you just have to do what got you guys started. You know, when you first started dating, you can’t get rid of date night,” Ice-T shared.
“Life comes in, drama, stress, but you got to return to that moment as much as you can. And then talk a lot. You know? Never let a problem fester. If there’s a problem, let’s get it out. Let’s talk about it quick. Don’t let it sit.
“Don’t be mad at me for like a month about something I didn’t even know got you mad,” he added. “Jon’s been married for a while too. He understands.”
Heder, 48, also hinted that Ice-T’s secret to his successful marriage was because of an indispensable thing.
“But I think the secret for you is also expanding,” Heder said.
“Yeah, expand. I expand. If I don’t expand right, you know, women need expansion,” Ice-T responded.
Ice-T and Coco tied the knot in 2002, and they share a 10-year-old daughter. The couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in January 2021. At the time, Coco, 47, took to Instagram to post photos of her and her husband having dinner with a small group of friends to celebrate the milestone.
“Happy New Years everyone!! It was Ice and mines [sic] 20th anniversary too and instead of having a big party this year like planned we decided to go to dinner with a small group of friends to bring in the New Year … Ice’s older daughter Tesha made it out this year too, it was a nice intimate night … Cheers ????,” she captioned.
Ice-T similarly posted photos of their dinner.
“I’d say Coco and I had a great 20th Anniversary Celebration last night … Thanks for all the LOVE … We TRULY appreciate it. #2021 ????????,” he captioned.
