An employee of Fleet Brake Parts and Services Ltd. was injured iat a heavy-duty truck parts service centre when he fell into an open pit after being hit with the hood of a vehicle, the province said in a Monday news release.

Fleet Brake Parts and Services Ltd. pleaded guilty on June 24 to failing to ensure a worker was protected from falling under the OHS code. The court fined the company $138,000, including a victim fine surcharge.

The Crown withdrew 13 other counts, as well as 14 counts against the company related to the same incident.
