A Greenwich man has been charged with a series of firearm offenses after police found nearly 30 illegal guns at his Stonehedge Drive South home, officials said. 

GREENWICH — A 49-year-old Greenwich man who was arrested in New York last month for a series of firearm offenses is now facing similar charges in Connecticut after investigators found ghost guns and other illegal weapons at his home, police said. 

Michael S. Larriuz has been charged with 14 counts of possession of an unserialized firearm, 15 counts of possession of an assault weapon and 61 counts of illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine, according to the Greenwich Police Department. 

Larriuz was originally arrested on June 15 in Westchester County following an undercover operation that included state and federal investigators. At the time, authorities seized three firearms, large-capacity magazines, six ounces of cocaine and 22 ghost guns that lacked serial numbers, officials said.  

As a result of that arrest, Greenwich detectives worked with the FBI's Westchester Safe Streets Task Force to execute a search warrant at Larriuz’s residence on Stonehedge Drive South in the Glenville section of Greenwich, police said. 

Police said investigators then found 14 unserialized ghost guns, 15 firearms classified as assault weapons under Connecticut law, 61 high-capacity magazines, numerous firearm components, unfinished receivers, firearm manufacturing tools and firearm accessories.

“This collaborative effort resulted in the removal of numerous illegal firearms from the community and reflects the continued commitment of law enforcement agencies to investigating illegal firearms offenses and enhancing public safety,” police said.

Police said Larriuz was charged by warrant and that he remains incarcerated in Westchester County.
