The Federal Courthouse in New Haven in a file photo. The U.S. Attorney's Office said Amonda Mendez, known as "M-Dot" and "Dot," pleaded guilty in federal court in New Haven on Wednesday to trafficking narcotics while on supervised release. 

Amonda Mendez, also known as “M-Dot” and “Dot,” pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base, or crack. The 35-year-old will face at least 10 years, and up to a life sentence, at sentencing, which is scheduled to take place Aug. 20 in Hartford, said U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut David X. Sullivan. 

Mendez previously was convicted of narcotics trafficking and firearm possession offenses, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said, and was sentenced in Hartford federal court in June 2016 to 10 years in custody followed by four years of supervised release. 

She was released from federal prison in January 2025 and, between April and July that year, law enforcement “made multiple controlled purchases of crack cocaine and fentanyl, and one purchase of a loaded .40 caliber pistol, from Mendez,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. 

The U.S. Attorney’s Office noted that the pistol had been reported stolen.

Authorities arrested Mendez on July 28, 2025, and also searched her, finding approximately 48 grams of crack cocaine and $1,934 in cash, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Police also searched her home in Stamford as well as another home connected to her, finding 163 grams of crack and $2,456 in cash, respectively, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. 

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Mendez also admitted to violating the conditions of her supervised release from the prior conviction.
