As commercial drone delivery continues to gain traction in the United States, Matternet is expanding the network behind its operations. The company has announced a new partnership with Beeline UAS, adding another FAA Part 135 operator to help scale drone deliveries across the country.

Under the agreement, Beeline UAS will operate Matternet’s drone delivery platform in key US markets using its own FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate. It joins UPS Flight Forward and Ameriflight as the latest certified operating partner in Matternet’s growing network.

The companies will initially focus on expanding beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone operations in two of California’s busiest regions: the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Those markets are known for heavy traffic and high delivery costs, making them prime candidates for autonomous drone logistics.

Beeline will support Matternet’s delivery-as-a-service operations for customers in the food, retail, and healthcare sectors, where fast delivery of time-sensitive goods can make a significant difference.

Matternet CEO and founder Andreas Raptopoulos says expanding the company’s network of certified operators is essential to keeping pace with growing demand.

He says long-term success in drone delivery will depend not only on advanced aircraft but also on the ability to safely manage and scale large autonomous fleets through a combination of technology and experienced operating partners. According to Raptopoulos, Beeline will help Matternet expand into new markets more efficiently.

Beeline CEO Toby Woods echoes that sentiment, saying his company’s goal is to make safe, compliant, and scalable drone operations routine. He adds that partnering with Matternet will help bring the benefits of drone delivery to more communities across the United States.

Rather than manufacturing drones, Beeline specializes in the operational side of commercial drone programs. The company provides regulatory expertise and flight operations under its FAA Part 135 certificate, allowing technology providers like Matternet to expand commercial services without building their own nationwide operating workforce.

The partnership is part of Matternet’s broader strategy to grow through multiple certified operators instead of relying on a single delivery network. The approach gives the company greater flexibility and geographic reach while maintaining regulatory compliance as commercial drone deliveries expand.

Matternet says its platform has already supported more than 60,000 commercial drone flights across the US and Europe. The company, which became the first drone manufacturer to receive both FAA Type Certification and Production Certification, has spent more than a decade building commercial delivery operations, beginning with humanitarian missions before expanding into healthcare and, more recently, consumer deliveries in Silicon Valley.
