Coronation Street's latest episode could seal Cassie Plummer's fate after death fears were sparked by new spoilers, with a scene seeing Ross Wilkes' true colours
Cassie Plummer's grim fate may have been sealed on Coronation Street.
Amid death fears sparked by new spoilers ahead of her final scenes on the ITV soap, a scene on Wednesday may have foreshadowed her demise. Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie, has quit the role after three years.
Her final episodes air next week as her exit airs, but spoilers have hinted a dark twist. In the spoilers, it reveals sinister new character Ross Wilkes, the father of Cassie's son Tyrone Dobbs, takes action.
He offers her a lift but speeds off with the doors locked. Soon, there's questions about Cassie's whereabouts and her lack of contact, and Ross is caught lying about the last time he saw her.
So has he done something to Cassie, with spoilers teasing she's in danger? It could mean he hurts her, or they just want us to think this is the case?
Now, a new scene in the latest episode may have teased Cassie could die. Cassie expoed Ross' past, and the truth about how she fell pregnant as a teenager.
Cassie told everyone in the room that Ross had paid her for sex when she was just 15 years old. As residents reeled from this confession, Cassie sobbed as she opened up to Tyrone.
But as Cassie believed all was sorted, and she'd gotten rid of Ross for good, he took violent action. At the end of the episode when she was alone down the alley, Ross snuck up and grabbed her, pinning her against the wall.
He then issued some threats, terrifying her as he shouted in her face. With this came a warning, as he told her to stop interfering, before he threatened to kill her.
It didn't seem like he was just trying to warn her off, and seemed as if he was capable of committing the crime. So is this what happens to Cassie next week?
Could his threat and the scene at the end of Wednesday's episode be foreshadowing how Cassie leaves? Perhaps Ross decides to take a final action, and kills her to get her out of the way.
It's not confirmed what happens, but actress Claire teased she could return one day. She said: "She feels she has absolutely no choice. She has been rejected by the love of her life, Steve, and everyone else has turned their backs on her.
"She feels her life there has been destroyed. The only option left is to take that job on the cruise ship. Whether she actually makes it to that ship or what happens when Ross takes her—that’s the beauty of it. No one knows, and it's left wonderfully open."
