National Doctors Day was celebrated at the Government Hospital in Alangudi, Pudukottai district, on Wednesday.

The programme highlighted the hospital’s achievements including securing national accreditation, successfully performing various surgical procedures, and establishing support and intensive care units.

Chief Medical Officer M. Periyasamy was presented with the White Cap Award in recognition of his exemplary contribution to medical service. Doctors who had rendered outstanding service were also honoured with certificates of appreciation and mementos.

As part of the celebrations, tree saplings were planted on the hospital premises.
