Jacob Elordi seems to have sewn up his next job.

The 26-year-old actor, who has inspired a bath water scented candle due to his film Saltburn, has reportedly signed on to play the monster in a new Frankenstein film for Netflix. 

According to Showbiz411, the Aussie actor will replace Andrew Garfield, 40, who was forced to bow out due to scheduling conflicts that resulted from the actors strike. 

Guillermo del Toro will write, direct and produce the movie based on Mary Shelley's 1818 novel. 

The Pan's Labyrinth director winner has been working on the story for some time. 

It's unclear if the Oscar winner is setting the film in the 19th century or a more modern era. 

Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz are all set to star in the sci-fi thriller about a scientist who brings a human like creature to life. 

At Collider's 10th anniversary IMAX 3D screening of Pacific Rim, the Pinocchio writer and director revealed the project is part of a lifelong dream. 

'I’m doing Frankenstein. We’re working on it,' he told the audience.

'We start shooting in February, and it’s a movie I have been wanting to do for 50 years since I saw the first Frankenstein.' 

'And I had an epiphany, and it’s basically a movie that required a lot of growth and a lot of tools that I couldn’t have done 10 years ago.' 

'Now I’m brave, or crazy enough, or something, and we’re gonna tackle it.'

According to What's On Netflix, the new film will follow 'the story of Dr. Pretorious, who needs to track down Frankenstein’s monster- who is believed to have died in a fire forty years before–in order to continue the experiments of Dr. Frankenstein.' 

For Jacob, acting seems to have been a way for him to handle his own demons. 'I feel the most free in my career that I ever have,' he told Variety.

'When I was 15, I was at an all-boys Catholic school. I was deeply unsettled and didn’t know why. In theatre class, I read Waiting for Godot. I didn’t understand it, but something changed. Everything that I believed in just went out the window.'

'I became an observer,' he explained. 'Acting and performance and story became my church. I worked 24 hours a day, devouring everything that I could. My personality changed.'

'My whole thing was about losing myself in the performance,' he explained, 'But now I’m bringing Jacob Elordi to a performance, which is such a heady, trippy thing.'
