The film, which also stars Aziz, centered around an angel (played by Keanu) who meddles in the lives of a wealthy boss (played by Seth) and his employee (played by Aziz).

So it makes sense that, when the three sat down for an Esquire roundtable discussion with fellow Good Fortune star Keke Palmer last year, the conversation turned to wealth disparity regarding the ultra-rich — and now an exchange between Seth and Keanu has resurfaced as well as become the subject of heated debate.

"Maybe this is, like, naive of me," Seth said, "but it seems like these rich people who...have outsized wealth, it seems like they used to have their names on things that were able to be used by the public."

"Libraries!" Keanu exclaimed. "National parks!"

"Yeah — parks, observatories, libraries, museums, you know, things like that," Seth replied. "And now it's like, people don't do that stuff anymore."

"They do," Aziz countered, "but it's, like, the Sackler family or whatever, but they also gave us Oxycontin to get the money to do it." He is referring, of course, to the Sackler family and their affiliated company Perdue Pharma, who are widely recognized for their pivotal role in the opioid crisis taking place. Seth then turned his sights to Elon Musk — whose company Tesla, if you didn't already know, opened up the "Tesla Diner" in Hollywood last summer.

"It's like a diner in LA, but, you still got to pay to eat there," Seth said. "It's not free. He's still charging people for smashburgers. There's a Tesla diner in LA! That should be free!"

"That should be free!" Keanu exclaimed in agreement.

"You don't need burger money when you're the richest guy on earth," Seth concluded, before adding later on, "I'm sick of these billionaires charging us for burgers."

Over on Reddit, people had plenty to say about this unearthed convo:
"It falls a little flat when everybody on that stage is a multi millionaire themselves," one person asserted.

"The people they’re talking about still make more money in a year than all of the people at the table combined have made in their lives," another person countered.

"New money tech oligarchs dont have the concept of noblesse oblige," another person (very correctly!) stated.

One commenter took aim at Seth's Houseplant line of cannabis accessories: "Seth, the cheapest ash tray on your website is $90. Sounds like you have library-building money to me."

But someone else was also quick to defend Seth's public charitable streak: "The guy runs a massive charity for dementia, maybe he can do more idk but I’m gonna keep my focus on the billionaires that mess with our elections and would literally enslave you if they could."
