now that you mention it the handling of 2018 fainting vs 2024 ass bleed is sort of the opposite of what you'd expect? 2018 was definitely still in their "everything can be content" era especially for phil solo work and so "I'm fine but I'll tell you later" would have made sense then! & 2024 as we know was becoming more open and they were less worried about...everything

but then again in 2024 they had boundaries and didn't need to live tweet things unless they wanted to! and they didn't! and they told us later and it was fine!

and of course 2024 was medically much more serious

it is interesting that they found a groove with personal/medical stories after the 2018 incident like even phil going to the hospital for his colonoscopy in 2020 and the glue incident were all revealed after they had happened/were completely wrapped up. and then of course phil didn’t acknowledge his chronic health issues until people wouldn’t stop commenting on how he was off in 2021 and even then he wasn’t giving updates for months at a time (when yeah if it had happened in 2018 he probably would have made an amazingphil video about all the different tests he had)

i guess the 2024 ass bleeding was traumatic enough for them to feel the need to comment on it in the mukbang before they shared the story. i’m sure they were still processing all of it (understandably!!!!) and maybe it’s easier to acknowledge the elephant even if you’re the only people who can see it
