Patrick and Jillian have been married since 1999 and are parents to Talula, 21, and twins Darby and Sullivan, 16.
The actor was named as People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive this year, making him the second oldest celebrity to ever earn the title.
Patrick admitted he was shocked to receive the honour and told how he is 'always the bridesmaid' as he spoke about finally achieving the accolade.
'I've always been the bridesmaid! I'd completely forgotten about it and never even contemplated being in this position. So my ego is good,' he said.
He is the oldest star to earn the title since Sean Connery was named People's Sexiest Man Alive more than 30 years ago in 1989 when he was 59 years old.
