A new character is joining the top-rated Kapuso primetime series The Master Cutter, starring Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, and it is none other than Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado.

Jennylyn rose to fame as the very first Ultimate Female Survivor of the reality talent search, back in 2003. She had a successful on-screen partnership with actor-dancer Mark Herras, and they starred in youth-oriented shows, such as Click and Forever in My Heart.

Over the years, Jennylyn has proven her acting capabilities through remarkable projects like Encantadia (as Lira), Super Twins, Rhodora X, and My Faithful Husband.

In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, the Jennylyn Mercado shared details about her role in The Master Cutter.

“Isa siyang bungangerang babae. Ano siya nag-struggle sa buhay pero may malaking puso. May mga ilan-ilang action scenes pero medyo nakakatawa,” the actress laughingly shared.

The actress also expressed her excitement about sharing the screen again with Dingdong Dantes, whom she last worked with on the Philippine adaptation of the hit K-drama series Descendants of the Sun in 2020.

“Hindi ko po siya nakakaeksena kasi second day ko pa lang pero, syempre, looking forward na makatrabaho ulit siya after ilang taon,” Jennylyn shared.

During the shoot, the actress shared that they had already filmed scenes with Sparkle child star Sienna Stevens, who plays the character Ibyang in the series.

Jennylyn said that the child actress is incredibly talented. She was speechless. Whenever a scene ends, Jennylyn just has to hug Sienna because she feels so much pity for her character.

“Kasi ang galing-galing, ‘yung talagang dalang-dala ako sa kanya,” the Ultimate Star enthused.

Meanwhile, aside from her showbiz career, Jennylyn Mercado is also busy attending to her business ventures. She recently launched their skincare product called DLN Skin and she also has her salon business, DYLN Style Lounge.
