A capable Logitech option for less.

The Logitech G502 X Plus is technically the brand's flagship model in the longstanding G502 lineup of mice, and has sat as one of the best gaming mice we've tested for quite some time, only being second best to the Razer Viper V3 Pro. This model brought some noteworthy upgrades against the previous generation such as a lighter, redesigned chassis, a more potent sensor and faster opto-mechanical switches. If you want one, this rodent is down to £88 from Argos using code RED20 that brings it within a few pounds of its best price ever.

The G502 X Plus comes with a redesigned chassis, as is also the case with the Lightspeed and X variants of the mouse. There are small, but important, optimisations such as a reversible and removable DPI shift button, as well as tilt functionality added to the already excellent ratchet scroll wheel. There has also been some weight shedding, with this Plus model tipping the scales at 100g - a 14g saving against the older G502 Lightspeed. All of this results in a rodnt that's seriously comfortable to use for both work and play.

The Plus also has Logitech's new opto-mechanical Lightforce switches to provide both the benefit of the lighting quick response times of optical switches and the traditional tactility of mechanical ones. I've always found optical switches to feel quite hollow on mice, but the blend of speedy response times and proper tactility works rather well with a snappy and speedy actuation. There's also a 25K HERO sensor inside, much like previous models, to offer an especially snappy and accurate user experience, and Logitech's Lightspeed wireless connectivity has also been upgraded to offer an even more reliable and stable experience.

Being the Plus model also means you get some stylish RGB if you want it, as well as integration with Logitech's G Hub software. This'll allow you to configure button inputs and macros and so on, which is always welcome. Logitech rates the Plus to last for up to 120 hours on a charge without RGB, and up to 37 hours with it off, which is reasonable.
