Atharvaa-starrer Idhayam Murali is now set to make its OTT debut after completing its theatrical run. The coming-of-age romantic drama, which drew attention for its youthful story and emotional moments in cinemas, will soon be available for streaming. The announcement comes as good news for viewers who could not catch the film on the big screen and have been waiting for its digital release.

The streaming update was officially shared by Netflix, putting an end to speculation around the film's OTT plans.

Netflix has confirmed that Idhayam Murali will start streaming from August 7, 2026. The platform announced the release date, confirming that the film will be available for subscribers later this week.

While Netflix has not yet confirmed the list of audio languages, several industry reports suggest the film is likely to stream in Tamil along with dubbed versions in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. However, the platform has not made an official announcement on this at the time of writing.

The OTT release is expected to introduce the film to a much wider audience after its run in theatres.

Idhayam Murali generated curiosity even before its theatrical release, mainly because of its title, which pays tribute to the late actor Murali's popular screen image. After arriving in cinemas last month, the film received a positive response from many viewers, particularly younger audiences who connected with its themes of romance, growing up and self-discovery.

The digital premiere now offers another opportunity for those who missed the film in theatres. At the same time, those who watched it on the big screen can revisit the story from home. Like many theatrical releases, the move to OTT is expected to help the film reach family audiences and viewers across different regions.

The film features Atharvaa in the lead role, alongside Preity Mukhundhan, Kayadu Lohar, Jonita Gandhi and Malavika Mohanan in important roles. Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil appears in an extended special cameo.

The music has been composed by Thaman S, whose soundtrack received a positive response during the theatrical release. The cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai.
