Across the country housing values are dropping, but Perth’s market is still holding strong.

Data from Cotality shows that the national Home Value Index dropped 0.4 per cent in June, making it the largest month-on-month fall since December 2022.

Sydney home values dropped by 1.2 per cent, and Melbourne prices declined by 1 per cent in June, while Perth continued to rise – but only marginally, by 0.7 per cent.

This is a drop from the rapid price growth in the first quarter of the year, where Perth property values jumped by 2.5 per cent. So what does this mean for homebuyers?

Essentially, the Perth market has shifted gears and property prices are no longer skyrocketing, instead creeping upwards at a slower pace.

Leading the way for the regional areas with the highest property value growth was Goldfields - which has a median dwelling value of $456,041, followed by Albany ($806,437) and West Pilbara ($764,314).
