IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu called for collaborative efforts to promote water conservation and improve groundwater recharge.

He was speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of Bokkalavagu check dam upgradation and beautification project in Manthani town of Peddapalli district on Monday. The project is being taken up by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Project SHINE.

The minister said the project would help conserve water, improve the groundwater table and enhance the surroundings. Desilting works would be taken up at Bokkalavagu besides developing a children’s park, open gym and a walking track, he said. He appreciated Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages for the initiative and urged more industries to support similar projects across Telangana.

Later, the minister inaugurated ‘Mana Uru – Mana Coaching Centre’ in Manthani to provide free coaching to government job aspirants. He also reviewed ongoing development works, including the construction of various government buildings. Peddapalli Collector Koya Sree Harsha and others were present.
