The evening downpour left commuters caught up in long traffic snarls at several major junctions and arterial roads, with slow-moving traffic reported across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Waterlogging and traffic congestion were reported on the Uppal-Boduppal stretch, at Allugadda Bavi, Rail Nilayam, Moula Ali Kaman towards Kushaiguda, Begumpet, Karkhana and from Begumpet towards Prakash Nagar. Traffic was also affected on the stretch from Muffakham Jah College and Chutneys towards Panjagutta Flyover and further up to Begumpet Flyover.
Similar conditions were witnessed on Banjara Hills Road No. 12 towards Masab Tank Flyover and from Shaikpet towards Tolichowki, among other stretches. The sudden rain also prompted several two-wheeler riders to take shelter under the Khairatabad Metro Station. The congregation of vehicles beneath the station contributed to slow-moving traffic on the stretch between Ayodhya Junction and VV Statue.
