Megyn Kelly tore into GOP Senator Lindsey Graham over the weekend, after he teased that Cuba would be 'next' as the US continues its strikes on Iran.

'For the love of God this man should never be in Trump's orbit again,' Kelly wrote Sunday in response to South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham's remarks on Fox News. 

Graham had told host Maria Bartiromo a few hours earlier, 'You just wait to see what comes in the next two weeks: This regime is on Death Row now. It is going to be on its knees.'

The MAGA-supporting senator then brandished a cap that hinted at his aspirations for the administration. Emblazoned on it was the slogan, 'Free Cuba.'

'I'm in Miami. You see this hat? "Free Cuba."' Stay tuned,' Graham told the host in an exchange that was quickly clipped and shared.  

'The liberation of Cuba is upon us. It's just a matter of time now,' he added. 

'We're marching through the world. We're clearing out the bad guys. Cuba is next.'

Graham further fumed to Bartiromo: 'If we get in a fight, I want to win it, I want to win it quick.'

'We're going to have relationships with new people that will make us prosperous and safe,' he added.  

Days earlier, Donald Trump - who counts Senator Graham as a close ally - suggested the communist island nation was next on his administration's agenda.

He told reporters it was 'just a question of time' before there would be some sort of change in Cuba's leadership, more than a half-century on from the 1959 Cuban revolution.

Kelly was one of many right-leaning commentators to break with the president last week, after the US and Israel's initial strikes on Iran. Critics have said they are frustrated with the US's support for Israel.

The SiriusXM host said of four US soldiers who had been killed by that point: 'My own feeling is no one should have to die for a foreign country. I don't think those four service members died for the United States.'

The exchange between Bartiromo and Graham, meanwhile, was on this week's Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, and saw Graham, 70, proudly produce a 'Make Iran Great Again' hat.

'President Trump said the only way to make Iran great is for the people to take over,' he said at one point during the sit-down.

'This is Ronald Reagan plus,' he said at another - earning a visceral reaction from MS NOW's Joe Scarborough the following morning. The remark was a reference the country's current approach to foreign policy under Trump.

'This isn’t "Ronald Reagan plus", this is Wilsonian adventurism at its very worst,' the Morning Joe host reacted, referring to the style of foreign policy popularized by then-US President Woodrow Wilson that sought to spread democracy overseas.

'Something that conservatives, real conservatives like me have long feared and loathed - sort of this Wilsonian idea, this George W. Bush idea in his second inauguration, that we’re going to export democracy to all four corners of the globe.

'Let me tell you something, that is a recipe for disaster. That is a recipe for American weakness,' the former Florida congressman continued.

'I have been saying for years now, because I got sick and tired of hearing people tear down the United States of America because a Democrat was in power, or because the Republican was in power.'

He concluded: 'America is strong when America is restrained, there are times we have to send our troops to war, I completely understand that, but this sort of drunk on power, this sort of drunk on militarism always leads to disaster.'

The administration recently ramped up an ongoing embargo against the island nation and has threatened tariffs against any country that sends Cuba oil - now in high demand in the country.

'Well, it seems like President Trump has followed through on a lot of his promises, for better or for worse, I just don’t remember this being one of them,' Scarborough's cohost Mika Brzezinski quipped of the surfacing strategy. 

'No, not the invasion of Cuba. No,' Scarborough shot back. 

The US's military operations in Iran entered its tenth day Monday, following an initial Israeli-US joint attack on February 28 that targeted the country's missile infrastructure.

Kelly last week cast doubt on Trump's claim that Iran was about to launch a preemptive strike against the US.

'Does it make any sense to you that Iran was planning preemptive strikes against us and our civilians, knowing full well of the massive military assets we had moved into the region, the aircraft carriers and so on?' Kelly said. 

'Obviously, it doesn’t.'

The host added that she was 'praying for the troops', before questioning why they were taking part in such a mission.

'My own feeling is no one should have to die for a foreign country... This feels very much to me like it is clearly Israel’s war,' Kelly said.
