EU Arctic Forum, Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue and Arctic Youth Dialogue

The EU Arctic Forum will provide an opportunity to assess recent developments in the Arctic and to discuss challenges ahead. It will look at some of the achievements of the EU Arctic policy in recent years and will continue to provide a strategic outlook for the years to come.

The European Commission in association with the European External Action Service will organise the EU Arctic Forum, Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue and Arctic Youth Dialogue in Brussels on 1-2 September 2026, with side events on 3 September.

A broad range of Arctic stakeholders representing governments, international organisations, civil society, industry, research, indigenous and local communities will feed into the discussions. Young and indigenous perspectives will feature prominently throughout the events.

The EU Arctic Forum will provide an opportunity to assess recent developments in the Arctic and to discuss challenges ahead. It will look at some of the achievements of the EU Arctic policy in recent years and will continue to provide a strategic outlook for the years to come. The Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue will offer a platform for discussion on Arctic matters affecting Indigenous Peoples. The Arctic Youth Dialogue, a deliverable under the EU Arctic policy and part of the European Commission’s commitment to engage with younger voices, has been envisioned and implemented with Arctic and European youth as co-creators, with notable involvement of Arctic Indigenous youth.  

The EU Arctic Forum, Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue and Arctic Youth Dialogue will include keynote addresses and panel sessions focusing, among others, on international cooperation, sustainable and inclusive economic development in the Arctic, human and societal matters, addressing the risks and challenges posed by climate change, Arctic partnerships, or research, innovation and Arctic knowledge.

The events will be held physically. Attendance to the events is free of charge but registration for in-person attendance and participation is mandatory. Registering for the event does not guarantee automatic acceptance.

Side events on 3 September

On 3 September, the EU Arctic Forum is hosting a few side events including on science, regional cooperation, space, investments and sustainable economic development. Join us for another day to continue the conversation!
