Photographer’s description: “I took this photo on a trip to Eastern Washington to see sandhill cranes, pausing on their northward migration.” Canon R5 and 100-500mm lens. Camera settings at aperture f/18, shutter speed at 1/1600, and ISO at 1600.

Critique: “The sandhill cranes migration is an impressive sight and so is this gorgeous portrait. You used an amazing lens and set your camera settings so well that all three cranes are in focus. Catching a sight of these cranes can be a daunting task when you’re chasing them around farm croplands — they’re easily startled. Well done!”
