The latest VoiceAssist module has been designed to automatically detect and reduce the level of mouth noises, offering a time-saving alternative to manual editing.
NoiseWorks Audio have just released an update that adds a new Mouth De-Click module to the Advanced tier of their VoiceAssist plug-in, expanding its vocal and dialogue clean-up capabilities and offering an alternative to tedious manual editing tasks. In addition to the new features, the company have also revealed that the Basic version of the plug-in is now included as standard for users of LUNA, Universal Audio's DAW.
Mouth De-ClickAs its name suggests, the latest module has been designed to automatically detect and reduce the level of mouth noises, offering a time-saving alternative to manual editing. A Sensitivity control allows users to set how aggressively the automatic detection and reduction is applied, while a Detection HP control places a high-pass filter over the detection stage, allowing lower frequency sounds to be excluded from the processing. a dedicated Sensitivity automation lane then provides users with the ability to vary the amount of reduction applied in different parts of their session without setting up multiple tracks and plug-in instances.
Mouth De-Click is being offered as a free update for all VoiceAssist Advanced users. For those who have already trialled the Advanced version, the trial has been reset so they can test the new Mouth Click module.
VoiceAssist Basic Joins LUNAAlong with the news of the new update, NoiseWorks Audio have also revealed that VoiceAssist Basic is now available at no cost to all Universal Audio LUNA users — current and future LUNA users will automatically receive a licence. VoiceAssist Basic includes the VoiceAssist levelling engine, which analyses the entire recording before making adjustments. It generates editable automation rather than real-time gain changes, resulting in smoother, more transparent outcomes than traditional gain riders.
The licence includes an upgrade path. Users receive a 10% discount when upgrading to the Standard or Advanced tier, which adds AI-powered gating, breath control, de-essing, denoising, de-reverb and low-end restoration modules.
CompatibilityVoiceAssist is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 13 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
