Minimal Audio have just launched the latest Current Expansion, Memory Rites. Designed in collaboration with renowned electronic music producer EPROM, the new pack kits the company’s soft synth out with an array of new sounds, and launches alongside a new plug-in that provides users who don’t own Current with access to the sounds in its individual expansion packs. 

The new pack is made up of an assortment of distorted basses, complex rhythms and “machine-born textures”, and includes Current 60 presets designed by EPROM himself. There are 25 basses, 14 leads, nine pads, six keys and six SFX patches, each of which feature a set of custom macro controls that allow users to manipulate multiple parameters from a single control, along with pre-mapped mod wheel assignments.

Memory Rites also marks the debut of Current Expansion Player, a new plug-in that allows users to access Minimal Audio’s range of artist-built Current expansions without needing to own the full version of Current. 

Both Current and Current Expansion Player are supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.11 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
