Designed for use in the studio and on stage, Sampleson’s latest creation is capable of taking any audio input source and turning it into a cinematic soundscape. Built around a custom spectral engine, Aeronaut captures and ‘freezes’ segments of incoming audio and continuously morphs them with the live input, creating evolving atmospheric sounds that follow and respond to users’ playing. 

As with all of the company’s products, the instrument centres around an intuitive GUI and features a simple set of controls. Once the plug-in is inserted on a track, it begins capturing audio and allows users to manipulate the resulting tones with two parameters: Decay and Spaceshipiness! Additional performances can then be layered over the top, allowing users to quickly create pads, drones, atmospheres, risers and more from a live input or any existing audio sources. Along with the live spectral engine, Aeronaut also includes a built-in 10-second looper that can be independently frozen and layered.

Aeronaut is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or higher, and Macs running macOS 10.13 and above. VST3 and AU plug-in versions are available — note that there is no AAX version, so Pro Tools is not supported. 

Aeronaut is available now, and is currently (22 June) being offered at an introductory price of $29, reduced from its full cost of $49.
