Major disruption is continuing along the North Wales main line this evening. Several trains have been cancelled and others are delayed by almost an hour.

Anyone travelling on the line should check their service is still running before heading to the station.

Elsewhere, a fire is also affecting drivers on the A483. A grass fire has been reported between Gresford and Rossett, and lane closures are in place.

Traffic Wales warned people to expect heavy congestion. They said emergency services were on the scene.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have issued a very short statement about the incident.

A spokesperson said:

For anyone heading further afield, there are more issues as people head into England. Transport for Wales said services between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Airport are disrupted.

This is because of damage to the overhead electric wires. Services will be disrupted or cancelled in both directions, and the disruption is expected to last until 6.30pm.

This comes on a challenging day for services due to the heat.

The lines between Wrexham and Bidston and Chester have been impacted - with delays and cancellations.

The Conwy Valley lined has also been closed between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Logging on as a fire next to the North Wales Main Line has hit train services.

It has happened in Flintshire - between Flint and Shotton stations.

There are warnings that services could be cancelled or delays. It is expected to impact the line until 6pm.
