Jennifer Lopez shared a sentimental Instagram post from her family vacation as she prepares to become an empty nester. The pop icon highlighted her 'road trip' around Italy with her 18-year-old twins Max and Oskar, spending quality time together before they move out of home. 'Road tripping with my coconuts before they head off to college,' the proud mom wrote, 57, in her caption alongside a crying emoji. In her post, Lopez included selfies with her two kids, both of whom she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, who did not appear to join them for the holiday. Lopez's cover photo showed her and her kids enjoying breakfast together on an outdoor patio in a sweet selfie. She flashed a wide grin as Oskar poked his head out from behind her shoulder and Max threw up a peace sign for their mother's selfie. Oskar, who was born Emme, recently unveiled a new trans identity as he prepares to head off to college. It's believed he will attend Sarah Lawrence College, an elite liberal arts school outside of New York City, in the fall.
It appears Oskar and Max are both brainy, with Lopez recently reporting that they each got into all of the colleges they applied to. 'I am so proud that they set goals for themselves,' began the Bronx-born beauty. 'They all got into all five colleges that they applied to. They both got a scholarship to each, you know, one scholarship to each. Each one got a scholarship to a school. And I just felt like they work so hard.' She then shared that they hustled to get good grades.
'I watched how hard they worked, from the time they were like... when school gets serious in the fifth grade, and they just worked hard,' she continued. 'They have ADHD, and so they need to learn differently, and there were struggles and times, and I'm just so proud of them because they did what they said they were going to do, and they're good people.' Lopez added her kids are 'loving, good-hearted people.' The ex-wife of Ben Affleck added, 'And they always said that. I always say to them, "What do I say?"
And they say, "Doesn't matter if we get good grades so long as we're good people." 'And I was like, "That's right." And they still sometimes will quote that back to me. So I'm very proud of both of them.' 'It's an emotional time. It's been the three of us,' she recently said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. 'People have come in and out of my life, but it's been the three of us,' she continued. 'They've always been there, and I've always been there.'
The On the Floor hitmaker added: 'I just never thought they would not be there. I just never thought that far ahead.' And while stopping by Jimmy Kimmel Live! in May, she also admitted to being emotional in the months leading up to her twins' milestone. 'Tomorrow, one of them graduates,' she said at the time. 'Don't talk about it because we start crying. I've been crying for two months.' She also admitted to having a hard time penning messages to her children in their yearbooks.
'When I tell you, the tears... two days it took me to write those things,' she said. With her kids' upcoming move in mind, Lopez has downsized to a modest $18 million Hidden Hills mansion in sunny Southern California. She is also still the owner of the $61 million mansion that was once her marital home with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck. The former couple were married for two years before they called it quits in the spring of 2024. Their divorce was finalized in early 2025. Lopez and Affleck, 53, have been continuously trying to sell their marital mansion since July 2024, the month before she filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary.
