BEIJING, August 7. /TASS/. In August, paratroopers from China and Belarus will jointly practice tactics to counter the terrorist threat, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense Chen Xi reported.

As he specified on the Ministry of Defense’s WeChat page, the joint Shenying 2026 (Swift Eagle 2026) exercise will take place in Hubei Province (Central China). During the drills, military personnel will practice counterterrorism operations in urban terrain.

The exercise is aimed at improving skills such as reconnaissance and counterintelligence, seizing and holding positions, clearing territory, and defending positions. This is the fourth time China and Belarus will hold such drills, Chen Xi noted.

The joint training will "help enhance combat capabilities of the participating troops and deepen substantive cooperation between the two militaries."

Later, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry specified that the maneuvers will take place from August 11 to 24. "The troops will practice counterterrorism operations: they will hone their skills in conducting reconnaissance, seizing and holding positions, clearing territory, and organizing defenses. The exercise is aimed at improving the combat readiness of the units and deepening practical cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries," the ministry said.
