The European Commission has reached an agreement with the SpaceRISE consortium led by Eutelsat, SES and Hispasat to further expand the Iris2 satellite constellation. The deal adds 66 satellites into low Earth orbit to the EUR 15.6 billion programme, bringing the main constellation to 348 satellites, and moving it from planning to full-scale deployment, said the EC.
