A vigilante has been taking matters into his own hands by catching and taping up thieves for local police officers to find.

The town of Lagos de Moreno in Mexico seems to have become the country's answer to Gotham City - at least, that is, if stories about its local superhero are to be believed.

According to reports, a mysterious vigilante has been attempting to deal with a spate of motorcycle thefts in the area by going after the crooks himself.

The strangeness began on June 13th when one of them was found by police officers taped to a lamp post with the wold 'thief' written on his forehead.

Over the subsequent days, several more were found trussed up in a similar fashion.

As things stand, officials have been unable to determine who is responsible and some have speculated that there could be a whole gang of vigilantes as oppose to just one.

Still, it's fun to imagine that this is the work of a lone caped crusader.

Whether or not he wears a bat costume remains, for the moment at least, unknown.
