Controversial Married At First Sight groom Tyson Gordon is saying goodbye to the lavish waterfront mansion he once envisioned as the perfect setting for his future family life.

The outspoken MAFS star, 31, who made headlines during the 2026 season for his outspoken views on relationships and desire for a 'traditional' wife, has listed his sprawling Gold Coast estate after pouring thousands of dollars into renovating it.

Property records show the former soldier and property investor purchased the 635sqm, six-bedroom double-storey home at Clear Island Waters, for $2.5million in December 2025.

Tyson revealed the reason behind the sale was that the property was too big to maintain by himself.

'It's beautiful... it ticked a lot of my boxes as a forever home. I loved the character it had, that hybrid between a Federation and Hamptons style,' he told realestate.com.au.

'It would have been great to raise a family here, but I think a house of this calibre is too much to take on while I'm still single.'

Tyson's search for love on MAFS ended in dramatic fashion after he walked out on his TV marriage to Brisbane real estate agent Stephanie Marshall, 32, following some very heated arguments.

Despite his failed reality TV romance, Tyson's property ventures appear to be flourishing.

The home is being marketed through a best offers campaign by Christine Demchenko and Oresti Astras of Astras Prestige Property.

The luxury residence boasts high ceilings, a large outdoor pool, a spacious kitchen complete with breakfast bar, generous dining spaces and an upstairs master suite with its own private balcony.

'Occupying a prime waterfront position in prestigious Clear Island Waters, this beautifully updated residence delivers an exceptional lifestyle opportunity,' Demchenko said in the listing.

Tyson undertook an extensive six-month renovation after purchasing the property, adding newly installed ducted air-conditioning, upgraded insulation, fresh interior and exterior paint, new carpets, updated lighting and an enhanced alarm system.

The sprawling 898sqm estate also has an unusual backstory.

'It had actually been vacant for 25 years – the original owner had won it for five bucks, it was an RSL prize home,' Tyson revealed.

The renovation project also carried deep personal significance for the reality star.

Tyson renamed the property 'Montana' in honour of his late niece, who died from brain cancer at just three months old.

'I wanted her name to live on and thought the home would be the perfect way to do that,' he said.

While he prepares to part ways with the waterfront mansion he once considered his forever home, Tyson has already set his sights on his next property venture.

For now, he says his priority is focused on 'bettering myself as a human being'.

Tyson proved to be one of MAFS' most controversial grooms thanks to his 'anti-woke' views that were branded as 'sexist' by some viewers.

The property investor from the Gold Coast arrived on the 2026 season looking for a 'submissive' wife - but recently clarified that this is no longer the case.

The outspoken star told 60 Minutes last month that while he still wants a traditional bride, submission is not required.

'So submissive was the wrong word to use. Traditional is the word I was looking for, the word I wanted to use,' he said.

'I'm not looking for a dog, I'm not looking to put my wife on a leash'.

Tyson still wants to be a 'provider and protector' and is looking for a 'trad wife' - but she will 'have time for herself'.
