Log Emails v1.6.0 has been released. This release only records the From name when it isn’t empty; purges logs even when settings have not been saved; logs Gravity Forms multipart emails as HTML emails; adds Sender, CC, BCC columns to logs list; records Reply-To addresses and shows on the detailed log.
Sender’s namePreviously, the sender’s name and email address were recorded in the From field. If the name had not been set, the field would look like this:
"" <[email protected]>
Now if the sender’s name is empty, it will look like this:
Purging logsThe plugin has a setting for how many days to retain email logs before purging, with a default of 30 days. However, that only worked if the settings had been saved! Oops. From this release, if you haven’t saved the settings then emails will be purged using the default setting – as would be expected.
Gravity Forms multipart emailsNormally, Gravity Forms sends emails as text/html, but Gravity Forms has a hook allowing you to send emails with both HTML and plain text parts. This release ensures that such emails are logged correctly.
Sender, CC, BCCThe sender, CC, and BCC email addresses have long been recorded in the logs and shown on the log detail view. This release shows them on the log list view as well. If you don’t want to see them, you can hide them via the Screen Options on that view.
Reply-To addressOften emails are sent with a specified Reply-To address. This is good practice for contact form notifications, where the sender must be a trusted email address that the website can send from, and the Reply-To address can be set to the contact’s email address. This release records Reply-To addresses and shows them on the log detail view.
You can update to the latest version from your WordPress plugin admin page. Here’s the full changelog for Log Emails.
