Blue Violin, a classic rock tribute show performed with violins, is coming to Strings Music Festival at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.

“This is no ordinary performance. It’s a bold, genre-bending tribute to classic rock — where live violin loops collide with smoke, light and epic arrangements,” said Blue Violin Music Director Christopher Vuk. “Blue Violin shatters musical boundaries, transforming familiar hits into something fierce, beautiful and entirely new.”

Blue Violin has performed at a wide range of venues including Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.

Songs played include “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, “the Devil Went Down to Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels Band, “Kashmir” by led Zeppelin, “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins and “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin, among others.

It’s a candlelit concert where each song is built using a looped violin and soundscapes.
