Slides from our February 16–18, 2025 NISO Plus conference are now available in our figshare repository! Presentations cover a range of topics, including trust markers for research integrity, open research infrastructure, access and authentication, cross-industry collaboration, and of course, AI in scholarly communications.

One of the highlights of the conference program was our February 16 preconference day, which offered two very timely half-day sessions on AI in publishing. Slide decks from each have been posted to the repository, and they’re worth checking out if you want to get an idea of some of the AI-related challenges publishers and libraries are currently grappling with. The first, Keeping the Robots in Line, explored approaches to managing AI access to content, and the second, Tracking Usage in the Age of AI, addresses challenges in assessing impact when usage driven by agents and bots. Several presentations from our third pre-conference, JATS-Con 2026, are also available, including Mark Gross’s “Deep XML Modeling at Scale: Consolidating 80 Years of Legacy Content into a Unified, Standards-Driven Platform.”

Slides from some of the breakout sessions scored highest in our post-event survey are also included:

Discovering the Future Discovery Pathways: Understanding the Journeys, Stumbling Blocks, and Solutions for Humans (and Machines)

Headless Scholarly Infrastructure: The Hard Questions about Access, Identity, and Standards Nobody’s Answering Yet

Measuring Usage and Making Value Out of AI Services

Sustainable Approaches to AI Development

Finally, you can also check out slides from the conference Lightning Presentations on new products and innovations. Presenters joined us from Access Innovations, FigureTwo, Impelsys, LibLynx, Silverchair, and the OA Book Usage Data Trust. Take a look to see the latest on offer from these industry leaders!

We hope you’ll enjoy browsing this collection of slide decks covering some of the big issues we tackled at NISO Plus. And if you’ve never attended the conference, considering joining us next time!
