SAVANNAH, Ga. - Zawyer Sports & Entertainment announced today that John Thompson has been promoted to President of the Savannah Market.

In his new role, Thompson will oversee Zawyer Sports & Entertainment's growing portfolio of sports, entertainment, retail and community-focused properties in Savannah, including the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL, Ghost Pirates Locker, Ghost Pirates Ice Cove and Savannah Steel of the UPSHOT Basketball League.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Thompson is a graduate of the University of Florida and earned his MBA from Universidad Europea - Real Madrid Graduate School. His career spans a diverse range of industries, including sports and entertainment, marketing, sales, healthcare and education, providing him with a unique perspective on business development and organizational growth.

Throughout his career, Thompson has focused on building relationships and bringing people together around a shared vision. In his current role, he has helped lead the continued growth of Zawyer Sports & Entertainment's Savannah operations, with an emphasis on building strong teams, creating memorable fan experiences, developing meaningful community partnerships and expanding the impact of sports and entertainment throughout the Savannah market.
