A Henderson man was killed after a rollover crash Friday in the Las Vegas Valley.

The crash was reported just before 11:50 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 11 on-ramp at Boulder Highway in Henderson, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol release.

Investigators say a silver 1998 Peterbilt 379 tractor with a dump trailer in tow was southbound on Boulder entering the transition I-11 southbound on-ramp in the No. 1 travel lane. The driver failed to maintain its travel lane and went left, striking both a metal guardrail and concrete barrier wall.

The semitractor-trailer then traveled down a small embankment and overturned onto its left side, ejecting the unrestrained driver from the cab.

The driver, Eric Andrew Francis, 44, was taken to a local hospital. The Highway Patrol was later told the driver had died from his injuries.

This is the 39th fatality in NHP’s Southern Division this year from 36 crashes.
