Adam Sandler is officially getting the old crew back together for another round of chaotic nostalgia, with Grown Ups 3 greenlit at Netflix.

The third installment of the blockbuster comedy franchise is officially moving into active development at the streaming platform, with Sandler set to write, produce, and reprise his role as Lenny Feder. Long-time creative partner Tim Herlihy, who collaborated with Sandler on the original 2010 hit as well as Hubie Halloween, is returning to co-write the script.

The original crew is officially reuniting for Grown Ups 3. The third installment follows Lenny, Marcus, Rob, Kurt, and Eric alongside their significant others as they deal with the loss of a mutual friend. To honor their memory, the tight-knit group sets off on a European getaway to spread their friend’s ashes, proving along the way that hitting their 60s won’t slow them down. According to the official logline: “Now that their kids are all grown up, the gang is finally free to go on the ultimate adventure.”

The upcoming film reunites all five core leads, bringing Adam Sandler (Lenny), David Spade (Marcus), Chris Rock (Kurt), and Kevin James (Eric) back into the fold. Joining them is Rob Schneider (Rob), who officially returns to the franchise after missing out on Grown Ups 2. Reprising their roles as the group’s wives are Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, and Maria Bello.

The broad ensemble features a long list of Happy Madison favorites, including: Jackie Sandler, Shaquille O’Neal, Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Cheri Oteri, Ellen Cleghorne and Nick Swardson.

The production will also honor the memory of Cameron Boyce, who played Lenny’s middle son, Keithie, following his tragic passing in July 2019 at age 20. Expanding the franchise’s cast are new additions Julie Bowen, Deon Cole, and Bailee Madison.

Reactions from the cast flooded social media after a group photo was posted to kick off filming in New Jersey. Schneider poked fun at skipping the second entry, posting: “1 and 3 will be the best! I promise!!! Congrats to the cast and crew of Grown Ups 3!” Sandler replied with “We missed you!”, while Kevin James added, “Here we go!!!” Expressing her excitement over joining the team, newcomer Bailee Madison commented: “I think this means I’m a Grown Up….. !!! Thrilled to have a seat at this table !!”
