Prepare for increased traffic and congested roads around East Campus throughout the day on Saturday, Aug. 15, as Duke’s first-year students move into residence halls to start the academic year.

While traffic will be heavy for most of the day, it will be heaviest between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. when students and families arrive for their assigned move-in windows.

All parking areas on East Campus must be clear of vehicles from 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 15. Vehicles parked on East Campus after 6 a.m. that day will be subject to towing.

All East Campus entrances will be closed during move-in on Saturday except to students with authorized passes. East Campus permit holders can park in the gated Smith Warehouse lots off Buchanan Boulevard near the intersection of Maxwell Avenue.

Bus service disruptions are expected for most campus routes during move-in. For real-time bus service updates, check duke.transloc.com
