The BBC has axed one of its popular talk shows despite having a string of impressive celebrity guests and receiving high praise from viewers. 

The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show, which was first launched in 2022, was hosted by married couple Chris, 39, and Rosie, 39. 

The series saw the duo joined by famous faces to discuss the likes of relationships, parenting, lifestyle and culture topics in front of a studio audience.

Among its guests were boyband star Ronan Keating, Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp, TV host Joel Dommett, actors Adam, Ryan and Scott Thomas, and comedian Katherine Ryan and her husband Bobby Kootstra. 

Other episodes welcomed First Dates' Fred Sirieix, singer Fleur East, McFly star Tom Fletcher, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood and ITV's Lorraine Kelly. 

It ran for two series, in 2022 and 2023, with fans hoping for a third to be in the works, but the series is said to have been shelved for good. 

A TV insider told The Sun: 'The BBC remain big fans of Chris and Rosie and the fact the show isn’t returning isn’t a sign of any bad feeling — quite the contrary.

'They wish them all the best and are still hoping to work with them on other projects in the future.'

The cancellation could be down to Chris and Rosie's busy schedule, which also includes their podcast, Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed.

While Chris also continues to tour with his comedy gigs, the couple also share two sons, Robin, nine, and Rafe, four. 

Speaking on their podcast about their schedule in a recent episode, Rosie said: 'At one point we had the podcast, the tour and the TV show all at the same time.

'That was really hard. It was too much. To the point where I was like, "I’ve got nothing left to say to you".  We’d be sitting down for dinner and I’d be like, "I’m all talked out".'

Chris added: 'We were going through it. She threw a strop in Sheffield Arena. It wasn’t a rock star, you know, smashing tellies and that.

'Rosie got her rail of clothes and she sort of slapped them from side to side. I remember thinking, "I get that you’re upset, but that was pathetic".'

It comes after it was revealed that a BBC icon will soon be back on screens.

Mr Blobby originally featured on the British Saturday night variety show Noel's House Party, broadcast on BBC One with host Noel Edmonds. 

Blobby communicated only by saying the word 'blobby' and was well known for causing mass destruction wherever possible.

And now he is reportedly returning after finding a new generation of younger fans thanks to online clips. 

According to The Sun, the character's owner Unique Television has lodged paperwork online to protect Mr Blobby's trademark ahead of his 'triumphant return'.

The pink polka dot creature even had a Christmas No 1 in 1993 with novelty self-titled hit Mr Blobby.

However after Noel's House Party was axed in 1999, Blobby also stepped away from TV, aside from a few cameos including an appearance in Peter Kay's 2005 charity hit (Is This the Way to) Amarillo.

His TV return is expected to include promo appearances and TV spots.
