This was a really interesting video and made me ponder after it, we might not have had laptops and small technology but we might have a world very close to our current world and a lot of similar things that we take for granted. Some of the devices mentioned I had never heard of prior to this video such as nuvistors, additrons, and core memory wafers. Sill it would have been really fascinating to see a world where this happened instead

I wan't alive when the principle of the transistor was first demonstrated, but I was when the first integrated circuit was unveiled. Oddly enough, we didn't learn about how transistors or integrated circuits at school in the 1970s, but we were taught about the operation of vacuum tubes, which showed how backward were the people in charge of the examination boards. We were also instructed how to operate hand-cranked mechanical calculating machines immediately before the cheap pocket calculator first became available. We'd already had to become adept at using slide rules and tables of logarithms, trigonometric functions and so on. I formed the impression that our teachers were clueless. By the time I left secondary school, I owned a programmable scientific calculator.

Nuvistors were a new thing for me . Till this video I had not heard of them.
