Officials are investigating after the body of a baby was found inside a porta-potty bathroom at the popular Electric Forest festival in Michigan over the weekend.
Michigan State Police posted about the incident at 1:18 p.m. Sunday, confirming that the body of the infant was found in a portable restroom in the camping area at the festival. The baby, who is believed to be less than a month old, was found Sunday morning.
“The body was discovered by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance,” MSP said.
A later update from MSP said investigators were asking for the public’s assistance as their investigation continues.
“If you were in the area and observed anything unusual, or if you have information that you believe may be relevant, we encourage you to come forward,” police said.
On Sunday night, the festival, in Rothbury, Michigan, posted a message about the incident on social media, sharing the details provided by MSP.
