Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its most significant artificial intelligence upgrade to date: a Siri enhanced by Google Gemini integration. Industry data and software release patterns suggest the feature will debut in the iOS 26.5 beta by late March 2026. This update aims to bridge the technical gap left during the 2025 development cycle and fulfill promises regarding “Personal Intelligence” and on-screen awareness.

The forecast for this release is based on Apple’s rigorous software engineering cadence. Following the release of the iOS 26.4 Release Candidate (RC) on March 18, historical trends point toward a public rollout on March 25. Given the typical five-to-seven-day interval between an RC release and the subsequent beta cycle, the first iOS 26.5 developer beta is expected on Monday, March 30.

This schedule aligns with reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, which identified iOS 26.5 as the primary vehicle for Gemini integration. By launching the beta in late March, Apple technically meets its commitment to deliver advanced AI features within the first quarter of 2026.

The integration stems from a multi-year strategic partnership with Google signed in early 2025. Apple determined that Gemini provides the necessary foundation for its base models to execute complex cross-app actions. This allows Siri to handle sophisticated automation while maintaining privacy standards through Private Cloud Compute and local processing.

This update is viewed as a “stability pillar” before the transition to the iOS 27 cycle in September. Features not finalized for the 26.5 release will likely be deferred to the June WWDC preview. The success of this implementation is critical for Apple as it seeks to transform Siri from a basic voice assistant into a functional AI competitor ahead of the 2026 developer conference.
