Connecticut’s Bruce Museum Names Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Experience: Kathy Fredrickson joined the Greenwich-based institution on August 3, after having served as a curatorial strategy consultant to the Bruce since October 2025. She previously held the role of director of collections and curatorial affairs at the Corning Museum of Glass.

Graham Foundation Names 45 Organizations as Grant Recipients: A total of $451,000 has been given to support projects like a landscape and design exhibition at the Cooper Hewitt in New York, an Amanda Williams exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and Paul R. Williams survey at Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The full list can be found on the foundation’s website.

The Big Number: $350 M.

That’s how much billionaire collector Yusaku Maezawa reportedly spent to buy Nausicaä, a 375-foot superyacht that’s named after a Studio Ghibli film. Designed by Marc Newson and built by Lürssen, it’s said to have nine cabins, a sushi bar, and a two-story gallery to hold some of the masterpieces from his collection, including pieces by the likes of Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Richard Prince, and Christopher Wool.

The New York Times takes a pragmatic look at some of the most lauded national pavilions at this year’s Venice Biennale, which have engaged performers to activate the pavilions multiple times a day during its six-month run. Paris-based dance critic and scholar Laura Cappelle writes, “The practical questions quickly pile up: How many hours a day, or a week, can performers reasonably sustain? And who pays for their time and expenses, when visual exhibitions typically require only attendants to run?” Dries Verhoeven’s Dutch Pavilion, for example, needs three rotating teams to achieve its six daily performances, along with an on-call doctor.
