Acura has unexpectedly unveiled its new concept supercar, the NEXERA Vision, during the prestigious Monterey Car Week. Departing from the brand’s traditional subdued styling, the model adopts an aggressive visual identity designed to rival top high-performance supercars.

The concept celebrates the manufacturer’s 40th anniversary, making its official debut at The Quail on August 14 before moving to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance lawn on August 16. A primary visual highlight includes dramatic butterfly doors inspired by iconic supercars.

Created at the Acura Design California studio in Los Angeles, the NEXERA Vision features a Matte Titanium finish paired with a wide, muscular stance. Performance components include an active rear wing and high-performance Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes housed inside 22-inch wheels with forged carbon accents. The concept also debuts phantom lighting technology—concealed light elements built directly into the bodywork that illuminate to reveal a signature “A” motif intended for future production vehicles.

Inside, the cabin delivers a driver-centric layout featuring fixed seats integrated straight into the chassis to lower the center of gravity. Rather than adjusting the driver’s seat, the steering wheel and pedals dynamically adjust toward the operator. The luxury interior heavily incorporates carbon fiber trims alongside sustainable elements like recycled aluminum and recycled polyester.

According to the manufacturer, the design philosophy behind the NEXERA Vision will influence upcoming production models, including the anticipated fourth-generation RDX Hybrid. While the model remains a pure design study without announced pricing or powertrain details, it signals a bold visual evolution for Acura as the brand moves toward high-performance electrification.
