MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) - Head coach of HC Dinamo Minsk Sergei Brylin has been appointed head coach of the Belarusian national ice hockey team, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation (BIHF).

The decision was made at a meeting of the BIHF Executive Committee on 20 August. Sergei Brylin will combine his duties as head coach of the national team and HC Dinamo Minsk. Before moving to Belarus, the three-time Stanley Cup winner spent more than 10 years coaching New Jersey Devils’ NHL club.

“It is a very pleasant and exciting moment. I have already seen how much people in Belarus love hockey and how passionately they support HC Dinamo Minsk. So becoming the head coach of the national team is both an honor and a great responsibility. I am ready for the challenge, this is my job. I hope we have many exciting games, tournaments and victories ahead,” Sergei Brylin said.
