Stundom, a Danish folk group making its first American tour, will perform at UTC's Cadek Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

UTC LIVE! will move most of its 2026-27 performances to Cadek Hall, giving the series a smaller setting that better fits the artists and programs it presents.

Known for bringing noted artists to campus who are outside the mainstream, UTC LIVE! will present jazz, Danish folk music, a historically informed Beethoven program and a marimba recital, with most of the season taking place in Cadek Hall’s 217-seat recital hall—a space especially well suited for piano, jazz and other acoustic performances. The smaller setting also brings audiences closer to the stage, allowing eye contact between performers and audience members.

Parking in the adjacent Lupton Hall garage offers concertgoers easy access to the building.

The move to Cadek Hall also places much of the series in one of UTC’s historic arts spaces. In a February 2026 history of the building, University archivist Noah Lasley noted that Cadek Hall was dedicated on March 26, 1961, as the first University building constructed specifically for the fine arts. Named for violinist and conservatory founder Joseph Ottokar Cadek, the building has long been tied to music instruction and performance at UTC.

All UTC LIVE! performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

For the first time in several years, UTC LIVE! will offer a season subscription. The $105 (adult) or $75 (senior) package includes tickets to the three Cadek Hall performances and a complimentary ticket to a Friday, Dec. 4, concert featuring New Orleans jazz clarinetist Doreen Ketchens and the UTC Wind Ensemble.

The season opens Thursday, Sept. 17, with jazz pianist Benny Green performing a benefit concert for WUTC-FM 88.1 in the UTC Fine Arts Center’s Roland Hayes Concert Hall. Born in New York City and raised in Berkeley, California, Green began performing professionally as a child and later worked with Betty Carter, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Freddie Hubbard and the Ray Brown Trio. He also recorded with Oscar Peterson and Diana Krall and has continued leading his own trio and recording as a bandleader.

Mr. Green’s visit to UTC was made possible by a gift from Ken and Nancy Dryden to benefit WUTC.

UTC LIVE! makes its Cadek Hall debut on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with Stundom, a rising Danish folk group making its first American tour. Drawing on Scandinavian dance music and storytelling traditions, the group blends violin, cittern and piano with elements of chamber and symphonic music. Stundom has been nominated multiple times for Danish Music Awards Roots/Folk honors, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.

On Tuesday, Jan. 26, Vienna-based pianist Daniel Maltz will perform in Cadek Hall in a program marking the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death. Mr. Maltz will bring a fortepiano, the early keyboard instrument for which Beethoven’s piano music was written.

The season concludes Tuesday, April 6, with percussionist and composer Britton René-Collins. Performing on marimba, a keyboard percussion instrument, Ms. René-Collins will present a contemporary program and talk with students about marginalized composers and efforts to broaden recognition of their music.

In addition to the public performances, the visiting artists will work with UTC students through masterclasses and related conversations about their music, the history behind it and the ideas that shape it.
