Hello June! It won’t feel like June quite yet. Monday starts with clouds and a few isolated showers; skies are clearing as we head through the day.
Temperatures will be slow to climb with the cloudy start. We’ll see highs in the low 60s this afternoon but some spots along the coast stay in the upper 50s.
Temperatures climb through the week, making it to the 80s by Thursday. Tuesday and Wednesday will have nice, sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 70s.
A spotty round of clouds and sprinkles Tuesday afternoon will put an end to this unsettled pattern. May had 13 days with measurable rain, but the accumulated precipitation is still about 1 inch below the normal precipitation for the month. That marks a full calendar year with below normal precipitation.
Groundwater is lower than where it needs to be with moderate drought conditions across the area and severe drought conditions north of Boston. This week likely will not help the drought help, with low rain chances until Sunday.
