We’re thrilled to share Ocean with David Attenborough has received six nominations at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special.

Produced by Silverback Films and Open Planet Studios, our National Geographic feature documentary has been recognised across a range of categories celebrating the film’s storytelling, cinematography, music, narration and sound.

Directed by Toby Nowlan, Keith Scholey and Colin Butfield, and produced by Nowlan, Ocean with David Attenborough takes audiences on a breathtaking journey into the most vital habitat on Earth, revealing both the wonder of the ocean and the urgent challenges it faces. The film delivers Sir David Attenborough’s greatest message of hope: that the ocean can recover if action is taken now.

The nominations follow a remarkable global response to the film, which launched as a worldwide cinema event before becoming available on National Geographic, Disney+ and Hulu. Since release, Ocean with David Attenborough has helped bring ocean recovery into public and political conversation, inspiring audiences around the world with a powerful message of possibility and change.
