I'm just gonna say it: 2026 can choke. Earlier in the year, we lost icons like Catherine O'Hara, Robert Duvall, and James Van Der Beek. But just this month, we've also lost Dolly Parton, Hayden Panettiere, and now Tim Curry. Life simply isn't fair.
So here are a ton of other beloved celebs who I desperately need to be safe and sound for at least another 40 years.

Jane Fonda is 88 years old and was born on Dec. 12, 1937. She's been nominated for seven Oscars, winning two, and has appeared in everything from 9 to 5 to Monster-in-Law to Grace and Frankie to my favoriteeeeeee They Shoot Horses, Don't They?. But more importantly, she's also the ultimate activist. Here's a recent photo of her from last month.

Julie Andrews is 90 years old and was born on Oct. 1, 1935. The Mary Poppins actor only needs a Tony Award to EGOT, but she actually would have won it in 1996 had she not declined her nomination for Victor/Victoria in protest because she was pissed that the production didn't receive any other nominations. Queen behavior!!! Anyway, this is a recent photo of her, taken at a 2023 celebration that honored her best friend, Carol Burnett.

Speaking of Carol Burnett, she's 93 years old. She was born on April 26, 1933, and if you ever need a pick-me-up I highly suggest watching her old TV show clips on YouTube. She's received a whopping 24 Emmy nominations throughout her career, along with multiple Peabody Awards, a Grammy, and a Tony. Icons only!

Ian McKellen is 87 years old and was born on May 25, 1939. He became the first openly gay male actor to receive an Oscar nomination, which happened for 1998's Gods and Monsters. He was then nominated a second time for playing Gandalf in the first Lord of the Rings movie. He also has five Emmy nominations and a Tony win. Below is a photo of him from earlier this summer.

Judi Dench is 91 years old and was born on Dec. 9, 1934. She's been nominated for eight different Oscars and won once in 1999 for her role in Shakespeare in Love, appearing on screen for just 8 minutes. Here's a recent photo of her.

Morgan Freeman is 89 years old and was born on June 1, 1937. He's been nominated for five different Oscars but only won once (for 2004's Million Dollar Baby), though I personally think he should have won for The Shawshank Redemption 10 years earlier. He's been nominated for a Tony, a Grammy, and six Emmys, but he's somehow never won any of them. The below photo was taken earlier this year.

Dick Van Dyke is 100 years old. He was born on Dec. 13, 1925. Wildly enough, he appeared as a contestant on The Masked Singer when he was 97 years old. Here's a photo of him at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, where he became the oldest actor to ever win an Emmy (he won for his guest role on Days of Our Lives at the age of 98). He's actually an Oscar away from EGOT-ing, having won a Grammy and Tony in the '60s and six different Emmys over the last seven decades.

Rita Moreno is 94 years old. She was born on Dec. 11, 1931. This icon was only the third person in history to achieve EGOT status. Within a 15-year timespan, she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing Anita in West Side Story, back-to-back Emmys, a competitive Grammy in 1973, and a Tony in 1975 for her supporting role in The Ritz. She's still working today and has multiple projects in production. The picture below was taken a few weeks before her 94th birthday.

June Squibb is 96 years old. She was born on Nov. 6, 1929. She got an Oscar nomination for the 2013 movie Nebraska, and she's still starring in movies and TV shows today. She even appeared on Broadway earlier this year, making history as the oldest actor to ever receive a Tony nomination. But I guess that's super fitting since June actually made her Broadway debut over 60 years ago, appearing in the original run of Gypsy in 1959.

William Shatner is 95 (!!!!!) years old and was born on March 22, 1931. The Star Trek actor first appeared on screen back in 1951 when he was only 20, and he's still acting today. He's since won two Emmys, appearing in everything from The Twilight Zone to Miss Congeniality. This photo was taken over the summer, and he still looks incredible.

Shirley MacLaine is 92 years old and was born on April 24, 1934. The Oscar winner is still acting today, most recently in Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building. She's been nominated for six Oscars in total, but you probably know her best from movies like Terms of Endearment, The Apartment (my favorite movie of all time), and The Children's Hour. Lily Tomlin is 86 years old but will actually turn 87 next week. She was born on Sept. 1, 1939. Since then, she's been nominated for 30 (!) Emmys, received both a competitive and an honorary Tony Award, has three Peabody Awards, the Mark Twain Prize, a Kennedy Center Honors, a Grammy Award, and an Oscar nomination for the 1975 film Nashville.

Rosemary Harris is 98 years old but will be turning 99 next month! She was born on Sept. 19, 1927. You'll probably recognize this Oscar-nominated English actress best as Aunt May from Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, but she actually started acting on stage nearly 80 years ago. Here she is at an event in 2023, just a few months shy of her 96th birthday.

Sir David Attenborough is 100 years old. He was born on May 8, 1926, and is still acting and writing today. He's lent his voice to National Geographic and the BBC for decades, narrating documentaries like Planet Earth, earning him four Emmys. He actually started working at the BBC back in 1952 (!!!!), and his older brother is Richard Attenborough (the Oscar-winning director of Gandhi and the iconic actor who played John Hammond in Jurassic Park and Kriss Kringle in the Miracle on 34th Street remake).

Marla Gibbs is 95 years old. She was born on June 14, 1931. She received five Emmy nominations for her role on The Jeffersons, but she somehow never won. Here she is presenting at the 2024 Emmy Awards with Quinta Brunson.

George Takei is 89 years old. He was born on April 20, 1937, and he'll forever be remembered for playing Sulu in the Star Trek series. This legendary gay icon made his movie debut back in 1957, and he even received a Grammy nomination in 1988. The below photo was taken last month, and he still looks incredible.

Eva Marie Saint is currently the oldest-living Oscar winner. She's 102 years old and was born on July 4, 1924. Here she is presenting at the Oscars in 2018. At that time, she was 93, and the Oscars were only 90. She won Best Supporting Actress for On the Waterfront back in 1955. Icon!

Michael Caine is 93 years old and was born on March 14, 1933. The two-time Oscar winner was nominated for six Academy Awards in total, but he retired from acting in October of 2023. His first onscreen role was an uncredited part in a 1946 TV movie when he was only 13 years old. Here's a recent photo of him.

Shirley Jones is 92 years old. She was born on March 31, 1934. I JUST watched her in 1960's Elmer Gantry, which earned her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar, and, whew, she was so electric in it. Most people probably remember her as Shirley Partridge in The Partridge Family, but she actually turned down the role of Carol Brady in The Brady Bunch (which ultimately went to her best friend, Florence Henderson). James Hong is 97 years old and was born on Febr. 22, 1929. A few years ago, in 2023, he won a SAG Award for his ensemble performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once. In the cast's SAG speech, James Hong talked about how his very first movie ever was with the legendary Clark Gable. That movie was 1955's Soldier of Fortune, and since then he's appeared in everything from Seinfeld and the Kung Fu Panda series to Mulan and Wayne's World 2.

Lee Grant is one of my favorite actors, and she's 100 years old. She was born on Oct. 31, 1925, making her one of only two living centenarians who are also Oscar winners. She's been nominated for four Supporting Actress Oscars in total, winning one for Shampoo in 1976. She's also the only acting Oscar winner to direct an Academy Award-winning documentary, which she did for Down and Out in America in the '80s. Speaking of Ellen Burstyn, she's currently 93 years old. She was born on Dec. 7, 1932, and has been nominated for six different Oscars, winning one for Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore in 1975. I actually worked with her briefly on the miniseries Political Animals, and she was suuuuuuuper nice to everyone, so, yeah, we love to see it. She's still acting today and is one of the rare people to have won the "Triple Crown of Acting," meaning she has at least one Oscar, Emmy, and Tony award.

Mel Brooks is 100 years old. He was born on June 28, 1926. He's one of only a handful of people to achieve EGOT status, winning a competitive Oscar (and an Honorary Oscar), four Emmys, three Grammys, and three Tonys. He's responsible for iconic movies like The Producers, Young Frankenstein, and Blazing Saddles, and he also created the TV show Get Smart. Here's a recent photo of him from earlier this year.

Tippi Hedren is 95 years old. She was born on Jan. 19, 1930. Apart from being an incredible actor and starring in multiple Alfred Hitchcock movies, she's also Melanie Griffith's mom and Dakota Johnson's grandma. Here's a photo that Melanie posted last year to celebrate Tippi on her 94th birthday.

Lisa Lu is 99 years old and was born on Jan. 19, 1927. She's been acting in TV and film since 1958 — literally 68 years ago! — and has starred in everything from General Hospital to The Joy Luck Club to Crazy Rich Asians. Here she is while accepting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May of 2025, becoming the oldest person to ever be honored.

Sophia Loren is 91 years old and was born on Sept. 20, 1934. The Italian actor was the first woman to win an Oscar for performing in a language that wasn't English, winning for Two Women in 1962. She was nominated for another Oscar a few years after that and then received an Honorary Oscar in 1991. This is the most recent photo of her, which was taken in May of 2024.

And finally, William Daniels and his wife Bonnie Bartlett are 99 and 97 years old, respectively. Bill was born on March 31, 1927, while Bonnie was born at an unspecified date in 1929. They played an on-screen married couple multiple times, most famously in the '80s TV show St. Elsewhere and then again in Boy Meets World. Bill played Mr. Feeny, and Bonnie played the dean at the university where he taught.
Bill and Bonnie actually met in college 75 years ago in 1951. They both won multiple Emmys for their work on St. Elsewhere, and in 1986 they even won together during the same ceremony, taking home Lead Actor and Supporting Actress in the Drama categories. Just last year, Bill joined former Boy Meets World costar Danielle Fishel on Dancing with the Stars for "Dedication Night." It was very, very cute.
