MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. The Russian stock market declined at the start of the main trading session on Monday, according to Moscow Exchange data, while the yuan exchange rose.

The MOEX Russia and RTS indices fell by 0.13% at the opening of the main trading session to 2,275.15 and 851.21 points, respectively, according to trading data as of 9:00 a.m. Moscow time. The yuan gained 0.8 kopecks against the ruble from the previous session’s close to 12.59 rubles at the opening of trading on the Moscow Exchange.

By 9:15 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX Russia Index had slowed its decline to 2,277.58 points (-0.02%), while the RTS Index stood at 852.15 points (-0.02%). Meanwhile, the yuan gained 3.75 kopecks to 12.6195 rubles.

Starting September 14, 2026, the Moscow Exchange extended its main trading session by one hour to 10 hours. The main trading session on the Moscow Exchange’s stock, derivatives, foreign exchange, and precious metals markets begins at 9:00 a.m. Moscow time. Calculation and publication of the Moscow Exchange’s main indices also begin at 9:00 a.m. Moscow time.
