MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. The Kremlin has no information regarding rumored attempts by the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party to establish contact with Moscow, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

"No, I do not have such information," Peskov said when asked for a comment on reports of alleged AfD attempts to establish contact with Moscow.

"However, as a German political force whose popularity is showing a steady uptrend and which advocates the advisability of establishing relations with our country - that certainly appeals to us," Peskov added to explain how the Kremlin generally views such statements from the AfD.

"Of course, such statements appear far more favorable to us than the statements of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who is essentially notorious for his confrontational rhetoric toward Russia."
